M is for Money

M is for Money
This week we learned about three stories in the bible dealing with money. How Zaccheaus stole money but after meeting Jesus he changed his ways. Jesus told Peter to go fishing and the first fish he catches take the money from its mouth to pay taxes for you and me. (We made our own fish with money)Then we read about the widow who gave her last to God. (We colored her and gave our last two pennies) We reenacted each story and memorized Philippians 4:19.
We learned lots about money this week. We counted it, sorted it, matched it, learned a money song, and had a store where we had to pay the correct price. It was hard work but these preschoolers rocked it. We traced large letter M with our finger then practiced writing it. We did money imprints which were tricky until we learned that we had to tape the money to keep it from moving around.

Other than that we played with blocks during pretend play time and made silly faces for fun.

Y is for You

This week was all about the letter Y and You (body parts)! We read about how Jesus said, let the little children come to me. We learned that God made us special and He loves us very much, no matter what! It’s so great to know that God’s love is not earned but a gift freely given. Writing Y this week was hard but we worked at it. During discovery time we played with money, puzzles, Willy woollies (they wouldn't put those down) and paint numbers. We made human Y’s and play dough people. So with God making us special we learned so many great things about our body like cells, and how our heart pumps blood. We played lots of silly body part games and moved a lot. We made self-portraits of ourselves with Jesus. Learning is so much fun!

Z is for Zoo

Z is for Zoo

This week we read about Noah and how he made the amazing ark (short for really BIG boat). We talked about all the animals Noah took aboard. We practiced writing the letter Z on paper and in rice and salt. We pretended to be animals and walked into the ark (under the table) when Noah (Ms Stephanie) called us aboard. It rained and we were saved by God. J We did also make our own ark. We made the letter Z with our bodies and toothpicks. We put animal puzzles together and made Zoos (out of craft sticks) for our animals. We then made lions and giraffe prints.
